IMAGINED LIFE ACTRESS KARIMAH WESTBROOK “GRACE’S” THE CW’S “ALL AMERICAN”

Working with Diana has been one of the greatest gifts to myself as an actor, not only did her teachings dispel the many myths I had about my craft, her process helped me to develop confidence in my work knowing that my expression is truly living in the truth.

When Karimah Westbrook first walked through the doors of The Imagined Life acting studio seven years ago, Diana knew she was a star. Her name means “generous one” and it’s a fitting name for who she is. Generous in her many gifts, Karimah’s quiet strength, perseverance and superb work ethic is at the foundation of her tremendous success as a creative artist and also as a series regular on a long running popular television show.

FROM THE WINDY CITY, CHICAGO- KARIMAH SOARS AFTER ATTENDING THE IMAGINED LIFE ACTING WORKSHOP IN LOS ANGELES

Born and raised in Chicago, Karimah moved to Los Angeles to fulfill her dreams of becoming a professional working actress. She took The Imagined Life Introductory Acting Workshop in 2017, began attending our in person acting classes and was cast in a breakthrough role within one year of attending our acting classes. Karimah has appeared on Showtime’s Shameless and AMC’s Mad Men. She played supporting roles in The Rum Diary, Baadasssss, Suburbicon and After We Collided, until 2018 when she was cast as Grace James in the CW drama series All American.

KARIMAH AND HER ONLINE ACTING COACH – FAMILY MATTERS

She has learned in our online acting classes to seek out her core wounds as a human being in the story and she has found that this has not only helped her tremendously in her work as an actress but also as a burgeoning writer.  A short film project that she co-wrote, produced and directed entitled, New Growth, is making the rounds. A feature film version is now in development for a full production and has already won a film festival award for Best Comedy.

Working on the set of All American, Karimah discovered what she learned with her online acting coach, that the family life on the set can begin to mimic your family life growing up. Although surprised when she discovered that was happening, Karimah says that portraying Grace has exposed her to a lot of her own unresolved family issues and forced her to find a way to heal from them.” She says “portraying Grace has taught me about patience and unconditional love.”

We love Karimah, and we are so deeply moved and proud of her profound empathic growth and transformation as an actress, in her acting career and in her life.
